Al Wadi University wins the academic chair position of the Arab World Institute
Today, 09-12-2022, the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar won the position of the academic, cultural, literary and scientific chair of the Arab World Institute, headquartered in Paris.
The appointment of the Director of the Academic Chair of Al Wadi University is expected to be announced at a later date, in a ceremony befitting the occasion.
A few months ago, the University of El Oued sent a letter of motivation to the aforementioned institute, supported by a local list highlighting the scientific, cultural, literary and artistic potential of the state of El Oued, which would convince the institute’s administration to establish the academic chair at the university. The list includes active professors in the cultural, literary, scientific, economic, religious, social, humanitarian and political fields. The list also includes the names of dozens of writers, poets and media professionals from the university, cultural institutions and associations, the cultural and media environment, and lists of locally active media outlets, including newspapers and media channels, in addition to the region’s touristic advantages, its border importance and the national and international air transport network, especially the El Oued-Paris line.
All these factors and motivational data contributed to convincing the Council of the Arab World Institute to grant the University of El Oued the position of academic chair, along with the University of Tissemsilt, which also received a position similar to the academic chair among all the universities in the country.
The Academic Chair Foundation will enable the university to establish scientific relations and academic cooperation with many universities and international bodies under the supervision of the Arab World Institute, which will increase the university’s international resonance and visibility. The Chair also opens up broad horizons for conducting research, conducting dialogues, exchanging visits, and benefiting from doctoral training positions. The Academic Chair Foundation relies on the Arabic language in its activities and programs. The mission of the Chair, within the Institute’s mission, is to introduce Arab culture in its brightest and most modern aspects.
