Final preparations for the second stage of the PhD competition at Al Wadi University
Today, February 9, 2023, Professor Boubaker Mansour, Vice-Rector of the University of Martyr Hama Lakhdar in charge of training in the third phase and scientific research, along with the deans of the faculties of the centers for conducting the doctoral competition examination in its second station for the Faculty of Technology, the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, and the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, reviewed all the material and logistical aspects of the doctoral competition, which will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the University of Martyr Hama Lakhdar in the aforementioned faculties as a second station after a series of meetings held by the Vice-Rector of the University in charge of training and scientific research with the deans of the faculties, their deputies, and the secretaries-general.
The Vice-President of the University for Scientific Research concluded his visit to the Faculty of Technology, where he stood with the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ali Shamsa, the Secretary-General of the Faculty, Mr. Bashir Madallal, the Vice-Dean in charge of Studies, Dr. Hariz Bakkar Al-Arabi, and the Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Attia Abdel-Malik, on all the final preparations for the doctoral competition, like the rest of the faculties of natural and life sciences and Islamic sciences, which will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
The total number of candidates for the doctoral competition at El Oued University this year was 8,477 candidates distributed over 12 departments and 23 specializations, while the number of proposed positions was 72 positions. The number of candidates for the competition in the College of Science and Technology is estimated at 764 candidates:
- Civil Engineering Department with a single specialization, which is civil engineering materials, with 259 candidates.
- Irrigation Department with three specializations:
Urban irrigation with 273 candidates.
Irrigation Facilities specialization with 135 candidates, Water and Environmental Sciences specialization with 97 candidates
In the College of Natural and Life Sciences, there are 1692 candidates distributed as follows:
- Environment and Surroundings Department with a single specialization, 634 candidates.
- Biological Sciences Department, specializing in Basic and Applied Toxicology, with 593 candidates. - Agricultural Sciences Department, 236 candidates, specializing in Plant Production Improvement and Sustainable Agriculture, and 229 candidates, specializing in Soil and Water.
As for the College of Islamic Sciences, the number of candidates reached 1896 candidates distributed among three departments:
- Sharia Department with three specializations reached 1155 candidates
- The Department of Fundamentals of Religion, with a single specialization in Islamic Call and Culture, has 455 candidates.
- Department of Islamic Civilization with a single specialization in Arabic Language and Quranic Studies with 286 candidates
The Vice-President of the University for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies confirmed during his tour and after reviewing the final preparations for the competition that the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar, in its second phase, is fully prepared to receive the candidate students and hold the competition in appropriate conditions that help the candidate to provide the best.
