Within the framework of the Algerian-Tunisian 5+5 cooperation agreement, which was represented by the Director of the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar, Professor Omar Farhati, the coordinator of the Algerian delegation, cooperation and partnership agreements were signed this morning, May 12, 2023, between the University of El Oued, represented by the University Director, accompanied by the accompanying delegation, and the University of Jendouba, the University of Gafsa, the University of Sfax, the University of Kairouan, and the University of Gabes. These agreements come in the field of twinning between the five universities, and strengthening the bonds of cooperation, student exchange, and scientific research between universities. The outcomes of the meeting of the Vice-Presidents and Directors of Algerian and Tunisian Universities were also discussed in the in-person meeting of the Algerian-Tunisian Universities 5+5, according to several points: - Evaluating and implementing the outcomes of the Annaba meeting in November 2022 and proposing short-, medium- and long-term programmes. - Appreciating the progress of the digital platform for researchers and research laboratories in participating universities, and through it, many points were proposed in the framework of expanding and using the platform and involving all research professors in it. - Approval of the hosting of the third meeting scheduled for December 2023 by the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar, which will witness, in parallel, an important scientific and international meeting related to international doctoral days, innovation exhibitions, student achievements, and many cultural and sporting activities. - Addressing the allocation of a number of students for exchange within the framework of a doctorate from both parties after corresponding with the two ministries to consider the legal conditions. - Proposing meetings between representatives of laboratories in fields and topics of common scientific interest. - Holding forums on topics of priority and mutual interest. The meeting concluded with the signing of 25 twinning agreements between Algerian and Tunisian universities to enable and implement the aforementioned items and topics within the 5+5 framework agreement between Algerian and Tunisian border universities. |
