Wadi University signs a twinning agreement with Uzbek State University of World Languages
Today, Thursday, February 9, 2023, a coordination and consultative meeting was held via remote communication technology between the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar and the Research Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology with its various research units in Oran, Algiers, and Constantine.
The meeting was between the two parties, the research committee representing the University of Oued, consisting of Professor Habib Qadda, Vice President of the University in charge of external relations, and Dr. Abdullah Raqiq, Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology in the Department of Social Sciences.
Today, February 8, 2023, the University of Martyr Hama Lakhdar - El Oued and the Uzbek State University of World Languages signed a joint framework agreement for cooperation in scientific research and student exchanges, signed on behalf of the University of El Oued by its Director, Professor Omar Farhati, and on behalf of the Uzbek University by its Acting Director, Dr. Abdul Januf Ali Sher.
The signing ceremony of the agreement, which took place in the central meeting hall on the evening of the second day of the visit, was attended by members of the guest delegation, including the Dean of the College of Translation, Dr. Rawajuddin Kamarov, the Head of the Arabic Language Department at the same college, Dr. Kamala Kadirava, and the External Relations Officer and Translation Professor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zubaidi. On the part of Al Wadi University, the Vice-Rectors for External Relations, Scientific Research in the Third Phase, Pedagogy, the Secretary-General of the University, and the Deans of the University’s eight colleges attended, along with the scientific, pedagogical, and administrative staff.
The framework agreement concluded between the two parties includes the axes of joint cooperation between the two universities, the most important of which are cooperation in the field of scientific research, student exchanges, professors’ transfers for internships, and other things that could support opportunities for cooperation between the two parties.
The Director of the University of Oued expressed his welcome and gratitude for the practical visit led by the delegation of the Uzbek University, which is the first of its kind to sign a cooperation agreement in person in Algeria with an Algerian university. He also expressed his readiness to take joint cooperation further within the framework of the framework agreement concluded between the two parties.
The signing ceremony was preceded by a presentation on the various facilities of the University of Wadi, as well as the most important landmarks and features of the Wadi Souf region in the fields of science, culture, agriculture and tourism, presented by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Literature, Dr. Nasser Dahda, translated into English. The guest delegation also presented a presentation on the most important facilities and activities of the Uzbekistani University.
Before the signing ceremony, the guest delegation made a field visit to a number of university and tourist facilities, accompanied by the Vice-Rector of the University for External Relations, Professor Habib Qaddah, and the Press and Publishing Officer, Dr. Khalifa Qaid.
At the Intensive Language Center, which teaches six international languages: English, French, Italian, Turkish, Spanish, and German, the visiting delegation received from the Director of the Center, Dr. Ammar Mustafawi, who received them along with the pedagogical staff, a wealth of explanations about the Center’s activities and advanced technologies in teaching languages. The delegation was amazed by the extent of what Al Wadi University provides in the field of language teaching.
The delegation also toured the facilities of the College of Social and Human Sciences, where they were received by the administrative and pedagogical staff, headed by the Dean of the College, Dr. Ammar Ghraisa. The visiting delegation visited some of the college facilities, including the audio-visual studio, the psychological assistance center, and the college library. They also watched an exhibition of the college professors’ publications and some of the classrooms, and talked with the students. Some symbolic gifts were presented to the visiting delegation as an expression of the warm welcome of the visit. At the “Hada Saleh” residence for girls, where they were accompanied by the Director of University Services, Jamal Quraisha, and the Director of Residence, the delegation toured a number of its facilities and exchanged conversations with some of its students, including those from foreign countries. The delegation was impressed by the conditions and circumstances of the residence, as the Director of the Uzbek University expressed his full readiness to send a delegation of Uzbek students to train in the field of the Arabic language and reside among their Algerian counterparts at the University of El Oued.
The Uzbek scientific delegation led a tourist visit to the Thousand Domes Heritage and Tourism Association Museum and the Local Tourism and Traditional Industry Office, where the delegation members toured various exhibitions and took souvenir photos of the city’s landmarks, accompanied by representatives of these two tourist facilities, who provided them with explanations about tourism and traditional industry in the region. The delegation was impressed by the various types of tangible and intangible cultural and tourist heritage in Wadi Souf.
