Dr. Anisa Daoudi, Head of the Translation Department at the University of Birmingham, lectures at the University of the Valley

Today, Dr. Anisa Daoudi, Head of the Translation Department at the British University of Birmingham, delivered a scientific lecture at the Faculty of Arts and Languages at Shahid Hama Lakhdar University.
The meeting was attended by the University Rector, Professor
Omar Farhati, who welcomed the guest and invited her to coordinate between the university and the University of Birmingham to conclude cooperation agreements between the two parties. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Director for External Relations, Professor Habib Qadda, the Director of Pedagogy, Professor Bashir Manai, and the Dean of the College, Professor Dalal Washan, who welcomed and introduced the guest professor, in addition to the presence of her Deputy Director for Studies, Dr. Nasser Dahda, and a group of professors, doctoral students, and those interested.
Professor Anisa Daoudi presented an intervention entitled Narratives and the Discourse of Violence against Women in the Black Decade, where she discussed a number of translated speeches about the narratives of Algerian women survivors who, as she said, were subjected to torture and rape at the hands of terrorist groups. They narrated their stories and testimonies through the writings of a number of Algerian writers and journalists in both Arabic. And the French, such as Fadila Al-Farouq, Saidi Khatibi, Hamida Al-Ayashi and others; They are testimonies referring to Fadela Al-Farouq’s novel as the first novel to talk about the rape of women in the Red Decade. She mentioned that translation is sometimes unable to translate some concepts related to the semantic system of women, such as “the tied tā’ and the shy tā’,” and she described them as “non-translational.” The lecturer called for relying on Arab additions, such as the projects of Al-Jabri, Al-Aroui, Al-Aroui, Arkoun, Al-Ghamdi, and others, to understand the reality of Arab women, instead of relying on Western studies.
On this occasion, Dr. Raneen Kulthum Jwidar, a professor at the British University of Darham, also presented an intervention of an anthropological and legal nature about the reality of ethnicities and international law that protects the geographical borders of countries inherited from the colonial era. She emphasized that the peoples of these ethnic groups continued to communicate with each other despite the official border barriers established by colonialism. For reference, Dr. Raneen Kulthum Jwidar is the daughter of lecturer Anisa Daoudi.
