University of the Valley towards localizing a unit in anthropology with the National Center for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology CRASC.
 
 
 
Today, Thursday, February 9, 2023, a coordination and consultative meeting was held via remote communication technology between the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar and the Research Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology with its various research units in Oran, Algiers, and Constantine.
The meeting was between the two parties, the research committee representing the University of El Oued, consisting of Professor Habib Qadda, Vice-Rector of the University in charge of External Relations, Dr. Abdullah Raqiq, Professor of Social and Cultural Anthropology in the Department of Social Sciences, Dr. Al-Dhahabi Ibrahim, Professor of Social Sciences, Dr. Suhaila Bin Omar, Professor of Cultural Studies in the Department of Arabic Language, Dr. Abdelkader Azzam Awadi, Professor of History and Anthropology in the Department of History, and researcher Nabila Hazla, Professor of French Language in the Department of Languages. On behalf of the Center for Research in Social and Cultural Anthropology, the following professors were present: Nour Fouad, Assistant Director of the Center, Mujahidi Mustafa, Chairman of the Scientific Council, Boulfadaoui Fatima Zahra, Director of the Research Department of Socio-Anthropology of History and Memory, Bachiri Hamza, Director of the Research Department of Cities and Regions, Aqis Kalthouma, Director of the Research Unit on Translation and Terminology, Hamou Abdelkrim, Director of the Research Unit on Culture, Literature and Communication, Rahail Al-Tayeb, Director of the Research Unit on Emerging Regions and Societies, Fahhas Sabrina, Head of the Department of External Relations and Research Valuation, and Ben Halima Nadhira, Head of the Foreign Relations Department.
During the meeting, the mechanisms of cooperation were discussed within the framework of localizing a research unit for anthropological studies at the University of Martyr Hamou Lakhdar in El Oued. This comes within the framework of the recommendation of the University Director, Professor Omar Farhati, to train doctoral students and exchange students after graduation and hold forums of a training nature and joint research work to produce academic research and studies through the fourteen research units 14 that include the Research Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology. The research unit also aims to preserve the tangible and intangible heritage that the Wadi Souf region in particular and Algeria in general abound with, and to work through this unit between researchers to introduce the heritage in its academic scientific contexts by raising the level of scientific publishing in its national and international dimensions, as well as working to establish a joint database between the University of El Oued and CRASC for research projects and the interests of researchers in various specializations related to the anthropological dimension and to give the cultural action a scientific system that carries indications of meaning and destiny in protecting and introducing the heritage of the Algerian nation.
The meeting concluded with appreciation and acceptance of all the outcomes included in the terms of the agreement between the Anthropological Research Committee at Al Wadi University and the Research Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology.
