The International Relations Office (IRO) at the University of El Oued is committed to enhancing the global footprint of the university by establishing strategic partnerships, facilitating staff and student mobility, and fostering intercultural exchanges. Through initiatives like Erasmus+ and international research collaborations, the IRO aims to empower both faculty and students to gain global perspectives and skills that directly contribute to the improvement of society and the economy. By promoting international academic standards and cultural integration, we prepare our community to meet global challenges and participate in sustainable development

Strengthen International Partnerships: create collaborative research opportunities that align with global priorities, particularly in areas such as sustainability and renewable energy, benefiting not only the university but the broader community.
Support Societal and Economic Development: Drive the university’s role as a regional and international leader by aligning academic programs with the needs of the workforce, ensuring that graduates and faculty members contribute to the social and economic improvement of the region through knowledge transfer, research, and innovation.
Directorate tasks
The Directorate of Foreign Relations, Cooperation, Activation, Communication and Scientific Events is responsible for the following:
1- Promoting the university’s relations with its social and economic environment and initiating partnership programs.
2- Initiating every activity to promote exchange between universities and cooperation in the fields of education and research.
3- Carrying out activities and communication.
4- Ensuring the follow-up of programs to improve the level and update information for teachers and ensure their consistency.
Speech of The Deputy Rector for External Relations & Cooperation
University of El Oued, founded in 1995, is a growing and dynamic institution located in southern Algeria. The university offers a wide range of academic disciplines across faculties in natural sciences, engineering, and social sciences, catering to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The International Relations Office plays a crucial role in fostering international collaboration and academic partnerships, contributing to the global presence of the university. We are actively engaged in academic cooperation programs such as Erasmus+, providing opportunities for our students and faculty members to study and conduct research at partner universities in Europe, Asia, America, and Africa. Additionally, we host international students and researchers, enhancing cross-cultural and academic exchanges.
Through our international partnerships, including a cooperation agreement, the university aims to build cultural and academic bridges. Furthermore, we continuously strive to increase the diversity of our academic community by attracting students from various countries and offering advanced educational and research opportunities to faculty and students to foster academic and knowledge exchange.
