El Oued University activates the twinning agreement with the Uzbekistan State University of International Languages and receives a delegation from its university
Within the framework of cooperation, exchange, and activating the twinning agreement between the University of Shahid Hama Lakhdar and the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, today, Sunday, February 25, 2024, the Director of the University of El Oued, Professor Omar Farhati, and his deputy for external relations, Dr. Muhammad Fouad Farhat, received the delegation of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Translation, Oleg. Bek Yuldashov, and the official of external relations and professor of translation, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zubaidi, while on the part of the University of El Oued were the deputy directors of pedagogy and scientific research in the third stage, development and foresight, the secretary-general of the university, and the deans of the eight colleges of the university, along with the scientific, pedagogical and administrative teams.
During the meeting, an annex was evaluated and added to the framework agreement concluded between the two parties on February 8, 2023, within the axes of joint cooperation between the two universities in the field of scientific research, student exchanges, professors’ movements for training, and others, which made it possible to strengthen opportunities for cooperation between the two parties.
The Director of the University of El Oued expressed his welcome and gratitude for the practical visit and the effectiveness of the opportunities for fruitful cooperation in its various scientific and cultural axes. He also expressed his readiness to move forward with joint cooperation within the framework of the agreement concluded between the two parties, and this is what the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aims to achieve through serious twinning for the benefit of students and professors of the two universities.
The delegation of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages also made a practical visit that led it to a number of university facilities, during which they were accompanied by the Rector of the University, his Deputy for External Relations, and the university’s frameworks for the House of Artificial Intelligence, the Center for High Performance Computing, and the Faculty of Arts and Languages, during which the Uzbek delegation expressed to the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dalal Washin, and the students of the Faculty their They were happy with what the University Rector, the college family, and university services provided to the delegation of Uzbek students who trained in the college and realized the knowledge of the Arabic language and its beauty. The University Rector also encouraged the students in his speech that they have the right to train in the framework of cooperation and academic exchange, and that diligence and excellence are the path to that. The delegation also visited the College of Natural and Life Sciences and its distinguished scientific laboratories and the Intensive Language Center, which teaches several international languages, namely English, Russian, French, Italian, Turkish, Spanish, and German. The visiting delegation received from the Center Director, Dr. Ammar Mostafawi, who received them, along with the pedagogical staff, with abundant explanations about the center’s activities and advanced technologies in Language education: The delegation was impressed by the extent of what the University of El Oued provides in the field of language education and its distinctive capabilities.
The guest delegation also presented some symbolic gifts as an expression of the warm reception.
The Uzbek scientific delegation led a tourist visit to the Museum of the Thousand Domes Association for Heritage and Tourism and the local office of tourism and traditional crafts, where members of the delegation toured various exhibitions and took souvenir photos of the city’s landmarks, accompanied by representatives of these two tourist facilities, who provided them with explanations about tourism and traditional crafts in the region. The delegation was impressed by the various types of tangible and intangible cultural and tourism heritage in Wadi Suf, the kindness of its people, and the excellence of its university.
