Rector of the University of El Oued Receives Members of the Provincial People’s Assembly Committee of El M’Ghir Province in Charge of the University Campus File
Professor Omar Ferhati, Rector of the University of El Oued, received on January 24, 2023, a delegation from the Provincial People’s Assembly Committee of El M’Ghir Province in charge of the university campus file.
The delegation was led by Mr. Abdelrahman Harabi, Head of the Committee.
The meeting discussed the progress of the preparations for the opening of a university campus in El M’Ghir.
Professor Ferhati presented the proposed project for the campus, which would include a polytechnic institute with departments of engineering and electricity. He said that the campus would be a nucleus for a future university center, depending on the availability of resources and the pedagogical map of new university students.
Mr. Harabi praised the spirit of cooperation and understanding between the two parties, and said that the university campus would be a valuable asset for the region.
Professor Ferhati said that the file for the university campus in El M’Ghir would be submitted to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research the following week.

The members of the University of El Oued committee had previously met with the Governor of El M’Ghir Province, the President of the Provincial People’s Assembly, and representatives of civil society, elected officials, and administrators to discuss the project.
The university campus in El M’Ghir is a major project that will provide access to higher education for students in the region.
