Basmat Amal Club Hosts a Training Seminar for Uzbek Students

Under the supervision of the Rector of the University of El Oued, Professor Omar Ferhati, Basmat Amal club; composed of Students with Special Educational Needs,  in coordination with the Faculty of Arts and Languages, organised a training workshop on November 29, 2023, for Uzbek students to learn how to write in Braille in the Arabic language. The event was attended by the University Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, the Dean of the College of Arts and Languages, Professor Dalal Ouchen, and the Vice-Dean for Pedagogy, the Head of the Arabic Language Department, and students at Viva Hall in the College of Arts.

The event commenced with the playing of the national anthems of both countries. The Dean delivered a speech in which she commended the efforts, effectiveness, and distinction of the activities of the high-achieving category and reaffirmed her continuous support for this category. Professor Boubaker Mansour, the University Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, expressed his pleasure to be present at this event of the Hope Fingerprint Club for High Achievers with its continuous activities, expressing their distinguished impact and active contribution to the university. He then declared the opening of the event. The President of Basmat Amal Club, student Khamissti Ashaab, gave a speech in which he praised the efforts of the University Rector, who is always working to serve this category in particular and to develop the university constantly and achieve the hopes of students with special educational needs. He thanked the University Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, the Dean of the College, and all members of the university community.

Student Khamissti Ashaab provided an introduction to Braille language, its origin, and development, and explained that the club members have experience in dealing with this technique and teaching it under the slogan “From Taking to Giving.” He then addressed the practical aspect and explained the methods of reading and writing, and the club members began teaching the Uzbek students the alphabets, letters, and how to write and read some words.
