Meeting of the Scientific Council of the University of El Oued
On October 25, 2023, Professor Omar Ferhati, who serves as the President of the Scientific Council at the University of El Oued, led a gathering comprising members of the university’s leadership including Vice-Rectors and Deans. The meeting began with a moment of silence to honour Professor Ismail Al-Aiss and Gaza martyrs. The agenda featured discussions on various topics including pedagogy, external relations, third-cycle training, and scientific research presentations by faculty members. Additionally, there was an overview provided by Professor Tayeb Zohra on the university’s ranking and visibility. Furthermore, the Vice-Rector for Third Cycle Training and Scientific Research presented plans for the upcoming second international multidisciplinary conference for PhD students in December 2023 under the theme “The Revolution of Artificial Intelligence – Challenges, Horizons, and Ethics.”
During the assembly, the head of the University commended the university community for their efforts in initiating the academic year punctually. Additionally, he highlighted five new areas of study introduced this year: medicine, veterinary medicine, translation, and two engineering specializations. Furthermore, he urged eligible individuals to participate in the university’s ranking and visibility committee with a goal to enhance publication and recognition both nationally and internationally.
The gathering involved dialogues and recommendations aimed at enhancing the educational and scientific framework of the university.
