University of El Oued Rector meets with student organization representatives
On Monday, September 25, 2023, the Rector of the University of El Oued , Professor Omar Ferahti, held a meeting with representatives of student organizations in the meeting room of the central administration. This periodic meeting, which is part of the dialogue with the social partner, was attended by the Vice-Rectors of the University for pedagogy, scientific research, external relations, development and foresight, the Secretary General of the University and the Sub-Director of Activities and the Director of University Services, Mr. Djamal Guerricha. On the part of the student organizations, the following representatives were present:

The University Rector opened the meeting with a welcome speech to the representatives of the student organizations and the attendees. In his speech, the University Rector praised the sense of responsibility and the positive role of the student organizations and the students of the University of El Oued for their positive contribution to the service of the university and its students.
The Rector and his vices Rectors of University then gave presentations covering the following areas:
- Pedagogy: Professor Bachir Menaï gave a presentation on the latest developments and issues related to student registration and transfer movements.
- Research and Science: The Rector and vice Rector for Training and Scientific Research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, discussed the registration and preparations for doctoral projects, focusing on projects and the university incubator.
- External Relations: The Vice- Rector for External Relations, Professor Guedda El Habib, gave a presentation on student mobility, scientific internships, the university’s achievements and the role of students in them.
In his presentation, the Rector referred to the new features of the university for this season, such as the opening of many different specializations that aim to meet the demands of students and their surroundings (medicine, translation, veterinary medicine and engineering specializations). He also mentioned the digitalization of various operations that concern the student in his university life, integration and training in the English language.
The Vice-Rector for Development and Foresight, Professor Ammar Zaabi, gave a number of clarifications on the projects that have been completed and others that are underway. The representatives of the student organizations listened to many answers from the Secretary General of the University, Dr. Chaouki Medellel, regarding the organizational aspect and the concerns of the student representatives. He also mentioned the establishment of an approved list for student organizations and the establishment of an annual work program, as well as the programming of regular consultative meetings, pledging to provide all the support and means for this.
The meeting also discussed a number of points presented by the student organizations, including the pedagogical, structural, administrative and service fields such as catering, transportation, housing, activities and club work.
The representatives of the student organizations received comprehensive answers to their concerns from the administrative and pedagogical staff, each in his own field. The Director of University Services also provided clarifications on most of the concerns of the student organizations regarding university services, including intensive preparations for equipment and facilities. He also touched on the most important topics and points that concern students.
For his part, Mr. Zidane Bachir, the Sub-Director of Activities, gave a presentation on the program of cultural, scientific and sports activities, calling on students to participate in them.
After a long discussion on the issues raised by the student organizations and the proposed solutions, the University Rector praised the cooperation and joint integration to achieve the goals of the university, which serve the student, thanking the representatives of the organizations for their spirit of cooperation, responsiveness and significant contribution to the success of the joint work and the advancement of the university.
