University of El Oued Organizes a Training Day on Entrepreneurship
On Saturday, November 19, 2022, the University of Martyr Hamou Lkhder in El Oued organized a training day on entrepreneurship. The event was part of the celebration of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, which Algeria is celebrating this year under the slogan “Let’s Build Together a Strong Ecosystem for Entrepreneurship.”
The event was opened on behalf of the University President, Professor Omar Farhati, by his Vice President for Scientific Research, Professor Boubaker Mansour. Professor Mansour welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of these training sessions, which aim to create entrepreneurial students who can be active in their communities.
During the event, Mr. Hamza Wathiq Allah Boujelkha, Ambassador of Algeria Venture, gave a lecture on the importance of startups in the current era. He explained how to obtain the status of a startup and an innovative project, and he also discussed the characteristics and features of startups and the main differences between them and micro-enterprises.
Professor Mefid Abdellawoui, Director of the Entrepreneurship House, also gave a lecture. He stressed the importance of benefiting from meetings with specialists and attending the training courses offered by the Entrepreneurship House during the week and throughout the academic year. He also emphasized the need to participate in awareness-raising efforts to spread the entrepreneurial spirit in the university community.
Dr. Farhat Mohamed Fouad, Director of the University Business Incubator, highlighted the important role that the incubator plays in supporting students’ entrepreneurial projects. He pointed out that the incubator has provided large spaces for this purpose, and he highlighted the incubated projects and the number of patents obtained, which has made it a leader at the national level.
Since the student is the main target of this awareness campaign, student Abdelrahman Boubaker presented a real-life example and shared his experience as a startup that started with an idea during his undergraduate studies, then turned into a master’s thesis, and finally became a company that makes a difference in its environment. He gave a presentation on the company’s mission and partners, especially the University of Martyr Hamou Lkhder in El Oued.
At the end of the training day, Professor Boubaker Mansour emphasized that the university will continue to be an incubator for creativity and innovation by helping and supporting students to establish their own projects. He thanked the attendees from all university departments and faculties, especially the students who filled the large lecture hall, as well as the economic and social partners and the media.
