A meeting of the Academic Council for Publishing at the University of El Oued.
On January 25, 2023, the Vice-Rector of the University of El Oued, responsible for scientific research, and the Director of the Scientific Publishing Council, Professor Boubaekr Mansour, held a coordination meeting with the esteemed professors who are editors-in-chief of the university’s journals. The purpose of the meeting was to assess the status of the journals, and publications, and to devise a specific strategy aimed at upgrading the journals’ classification from category “C” to “B,” then to “A,” and to develop a work plan for the academic year 2022/2023 regarding publishing and printing of journals and books.
The University of El Oued is considered a pioneer in the field of publishing and classification, ranking first nationally with 26 journals classified as “C.”
During the meeting, Mr. Ammar Zaabi, the Deputy Director of the Publishing Council for Humanities and Social Sciences, presented an overview of the status of journals and publications at the university and explained a plan regarding the strategy and upgrading of these journals to category “B.” Additionally, Mr. Atiya Abdelmalek, representing technical and technological journals, presented publishing techniques and supportive mechanisms for classifying journals in categories “B” and “A.”
A scientific discussion was centered around the technical problems and challenges in the classification field, led by the esteemed professors who are editors-in-chief. This was followed by targeting the journals that are part of the upgrading strategy from category “C” to categories “B” and “A,” within a future vision to enhance scientific publishing globally and to maintain El Oued University’s achievements in scientific publishing at the national and international levels.
