International Conference on Chemical Engineering and Green Chemistry organized by the Faculty of Exact Sciences at the University of El Oued
The International conference on “Catalysis, Chemical Engineering, and Green Chemistry,” organized by the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Exact Sciences at the University of El Oued, began today, February 22, 2023. The event is scheduled to take place over two days in the Abu Al-Kacem Saadallah Grand Lecture Hall.
The scientific event was overseen by the Rector of the University, Professor Omar Ferhati, in the presence of the Chemistry Professor and Rector of the University of Tebessa, Abdelkarim Gouasmi, the Deputy Director of the University for External Relations, Professor Guedda El-Habib, the Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Professor Abdelouahab Mansour, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, Dr. Dalal Ouachen, the organizing committee of the forum, and participating professors from within and outside the country, as well as students.
The conference was inaugurated by the Rector of the University speech, who welcomed the attendees and thanked all contributors to this scientific event, including the Dean of the Faculty and the forum’s president, Professor Neghmouche Saleh, and experienced chemistry professors. He expressed his wishes for the success of this event.
The conference focuses on the study of green chemistry, which involves chemical substances derived from natural plant elements. According to the organizing committee, the conference aims to explore the applications of catalysts in industrial and environmental fields, including green chemistry, organic chemistry applications, and mechanisms for dealing with chemistry specialties and common aspects in the catalytic field.
Professor Abdelkarim Gouasmi, the Rector of the University of Tebessa, also welcomed the attendees, thanking the University Rector and the academic staff for their important scientific event. He anticipates that the event will conclude with recommendations that serve the stakeholders. Additionally, there were interventions by the conference’s president, Dr. Neghmouche Saleh, and an intervention by Professor Pierre Devermo from the University of Strasbourg, France, titled “The Use of NHC in Industrial and Environmental Fields.” According to the conference’s organizing committee, around 54 oral presentations and 135 poster presentations were scheduled.
