Meeting of the Scientific Publishing Council of El Oued University
On January 25, 2023, the Vice-Rector of the University of Martyr Hamou Lkhder in charge of Scientific Research and Director of the Scientific Publishing Council, Professor Boubaker Mansour, held a coordination meeting with the editors-in-chief of the university’s journals. The aim of the meeting was to assess the status of journals and publications and to develop a specific strategy to promote the ranking of journals from category “C” to category “B” and then “A”. The meeting also discussed the work plan for the academic year 2022/2023 and how to publish and print journals and books.
The University of Martyr Hamou Lkhder El Oued is a pioneer in the field of publishing and ranking, with 26 journals ranked in category “C”, the highest number in the country.
During the meeting, Professor Amar Zaabi, Deputy Director of the Publishing Council for Humanities and Social Sciences, gave a presentation on the status of journals and publications at the university and outlined a strategy for promoting these journals to category B. Professor Atia Abdelmalek, representing the journals with a technical and technological character, gave a presentation on publishing techniques and mechanisms to help journals achieve ranking in categories “B” and “A”.
The editors-in-chief engaged in a scientific discussion about the challenges and technical difficulties in the field of ranking. The meeting concluded with the identification of journals to be included in the strategy for promoting them from category C to category B and A, with a view to the future and promoting scientific publishing in its global context. The meeting also emphasized the importance of preserving the successes achieved by El Oued University in the field of scientific publishing at the national and international levels.
