From workshops and seminars to conferences and awareness campaigns, the university provides opportunities for individuals of all backgrounds to engage with cutting-edge research, innovative practices, and topics of societal importance. These public events not only enrich the local and regional communities but also embody the university’s dedication to promoting inclusive and accessible education for all.
The president of the educational university in Tatarstan, Russia, lectured at El Oued University.
Today, on February 28, 2023, the president of the Educational University in Cheboksary, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan within the Russian Federation, Professor Galiak Perova, delivered an introductory lecture at El Oued University. The lecture took place in the Main Hall of the Faculty of Economics, Commerce, and Management.
Accompanied by her university colleagues, Professor Sharfov Oleg, Professor El-Habib Guedda, Vice-Director for External Relations, Dr. Hicham Labza, the dean of the faculty, and Dr. Miloudi Monir, as well as Professor Abdelwahab Mansour, the dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences, and a group of professors and students, the meeting commenced with a welcoming speechdelivered by Vice-Director Professor El-Habib Guedda.
Professor Galiak Perova then presented a powerpoint presentation about her educational institution, which is unique in Tatarstan. She emphasized that it is a modern educational and research university, discussing its faculties, facilities, student enrollment, and specialties. The university has six faculties and an institute for additional vocational education, with over 5,000 students, including 7% international students. She also highlighted the university’s international activities, annual scientific conferences, and various projects, such as the New Educational Environment, Digital University, new teacher training programs, digital management, regional quality assessment system, and new methods of organizing scientific work. She mentioned the university’s infrastructure, including integrated research laboratories in physics and chemistry, educational innovations, digital technologies, expert analysis center, Kamaz Sports Center, and the Techno-Educational Competence Center, “Quantorium”. She expressed the university’s readiness for cooperation in various scientific and educational fields in Russia and worldwide.
The presentation was followed by a session of questions and discussions from the professors, and the students also engaged actively, asking numerous questions that Professor Galiak Perova answered.
In conclusion, Professor Galiak Perova and her delegation expressed their admiration for El oued University and commended the efforts of the university’s management and staff in developing the institution in various fields. They also praised the twining agreement between the two universities, enabling student exchanges and scientific visits. Vice-Rector Professor Guedda El-Habib expressed his gratitude and happiness for the visit and the agreement of twinning between the two universities.
During their stay in El Oued, the delegation from Tatarstan University also enjoyed a touristic tour of several local and cultural sites in the city of “Alif Quba” interpreted as”1000 coupola” and its surroundings.
A Seminar on Scientific Visits for “Wad Souf” Celebrities: Intellectual and Cultural Impact on the Region and Its Surroundings at El Oued University.
Today, March 12, 2023, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at El Oued University organized, in coordination with the Laboratory of Contributions of Algerian Scholars to Enrich Islamic Sciences and the Research Group known as (P.R.F.U), a seminar focusing on A Seminar on Scientific Visits for “Wad Souf” Celebrities and their Intellectual and Cultural Impact on the Region and its Surroundings between 1900-1988. The event took place in the Audiovisual Hall at the Central Library. The opening of the scientific event was presided over by Mr. Rahmani Ibrahim, the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, along with professors Dr. Hamza Boukhzenna and Dr. El-Jabari Othmani, and the scientific and organizational committee of the seminar, in addition to the presence of professors and students.
Mr. Rahmani, the Dean, emphasized the importance and role of this meeting in enhancing research and scientific production and the expeditions in the quest for knowledge, which are considered an important source for understanding cultural life and scientific environments. On the other hand, Dr. El-Jabari Othmani, the chair of seminar, delivered a speech about the scientific visits and their intellectual and cultural impact, wishing everyone success and prosperity.
The program included scientific sessions that featured many presentations presented by researching professors. These sessions covered various topics, including “The Scientific Visits and Its Role” by Dr. Abdelhakim Ben Aoun, as well as a presentation titled “The “Zaitounya” Visits of the Qur’an Reciter Ali Beyka Al-Qamari and Its Cultural Effects on the Soufi and Biskri Communities” by Dr. Mokhtar Qadiri, among other presentations. Through these presentations, the professors aimed to achieve the objectives of this seminar, which include:
- Highlighting the role of Soufi scientist visitors in revitalizing educational and cultural exchange program.
- Clarifying the importance of the main sources of intellectual and cultural awareness among the population of the region using Quick Quizzes.
- Revealing the contributions of celebrities’ intellectuals in the region and beyond and their roles to raise awareness.
The Linguistic Reference of Terminology in Islamic Heritage.
The linguistic reference of terminology in Islamic heritage is the topic of an international conference organized by the Faculty of Literature and Languages at the University of El Oued.
The topic “Linguistic Reference of Terminology in Islamic Heritage: From Conceptualization to Establishment” was the subject of the international conference that commenced on March 13, 2023, and lasted for two days. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Literature and Languages at the University of El Oued in coordination with the Laboratory of Discourses and Discourse Analysis.
The event was attended by professors from the University of El Oued as well as several national universities, with academic participation from Palestine, totaling around 65 scientific contributions. The conference was marked by intense attendance from professors and students alike.
The opening conference was inaugurated by the University’s Rector, Professor Omar Ferhati, who welcomed the attendees and expressed his delight at their selection of such an important and beneficial topic for the training of the concerned participants. He emphasized the university’s openness to all scientific initiatives that complement pedagogical activities and wished them success in the conference.
Among the attendees were the university’s vice rectors, the Secretary-General of the University, Deans of the Faculties, Heads of Departments, and representatives from the Directorate of University Services. Notable participants included financial experts such as Professor Hamana Abdelaziz from Guelma and Professor Bedjaoui Abdelrazak from the General Inspectorate of Finance, along with other professors.
The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages, Dr. Mekki Derradji, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of the conference in seeking knowledge. The chair of the conference, Dr. Elias Djaouadi, also delivered a speech acknowledging all participants and emphasizing the significance of the research event.
The focus of the conference was primarily on terms and definitions within Islamic philosophical heritage, with discussions revolving around the conceptualization, evolution, and establishment of terminologies. The sessions covered various topics, including the terminological system and its characteristics, references to terminology in Islamic philosophical heritage, the migration of terminology across temporal sciences in Islamic philosophical heritage, and the fields of terminology in Islamic philosophical heritage with practical applications.
The conference aims to conclude with practical recommendations that serve the terminology and its development in Islamic philosophical heritage.
The Second National Conference on “The Role of Civil Society in Conserving Algerian National Security” at El Oued University.
On the occasion of the National Martyrs’ Day on February 18th, 2023, El Oued University organized the second national conference on “The Role of Civil Society in Conserving Algerian National Security.” This event was held in collaboration with the “Zaouia Teddjania” located in Tamasin,Touggourt City known as Sufism Representative and coordinating with the National Economic, Social, and Environmental Assembly, known as the National Observatory for Civil Society, the Higher Assembly for Youth, the National Association named by “El Attaa” known as the Algerian Association for the Conserving of Historical Heritage and National Memory, and the “Tassili-News” known as Newspaper, hosted in the Grand Hall Abu al-Qasim Saadallah at the university of Eloued.
The scientific event of the Conference was attended by Mr. El Khadim Saeed Akrouf, the Wali (City Governor) of El Oued, Professor Omar Ferhati, the University Rector, Professor Muhammad El-Eid Tadjani, the Sheikh of the Zaouia Tedjania, the President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Assembly, Professor Boumedien Bouzid, the Secretary-General of the Higher Islamic Assembly, as well as the Deputy President of the Higher Assembly for Youth and the President of Security Committee, the Chief of Administrative Service of El Oued, Sufism Sheikhs, and media representatives.
The event was distinguished by the presence of university staff, including vice-rectors, deans, members of the organizational scientific committee for the conference, professors from within and outside the university, and university students.
Professor Omar Ferhati, as the honorary president of the forum, delivered a welcoming speech, expressing his pleasure at hosting this significant event in coordination with the Tajaniya Tamasin Sufi Order. He highlighted the evolving levels of security, extending beyond military security to encompass social, environmental, health, and food security. He emphasized the role of various institutions, including military institutions, Quranic schools, and Sufi orders, in facing challenges together, officially opening the forum.
Professor Muhammad El-Eid Tadjani, the Sheikh of the Zaouia Tedjania, welcomed the distinguished attendees as the president of the conference, expressing his gratitude to the university rector for his presence at this significant scientific event, emphasizing the idea of the multiple levels and dimensions of security and the role of the Zaouia Tedjania in activating civil society and contributing to the concerving of the national security of Algeria.
There was also a presentation provided by Professor Abd al-Malik Attia, the President of the conference, who welcomed everyone and outlined the objectives of the conference in preserving Algerian society’s values and traditions. He emphasized the conference’s focus on social and economic interaction roles, centered on the various important and active roles of civil society in achieving present and future security.
The conference’s proceedings were concluded at the Cultural Center of the Zaouia Tedjania in Guemar, with the presence of the honorary president of the conference, El Sheikh Muhammad El-Eid Tadjani, the University rector, Professor Omar Ferhati, the Forum Director, Professor Atia Abd al-Kamil, the President of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council, Professor Muhammad Boushnak Kholladi, the Secretary-General of the Higher Islamic Asembly, Bouzid Boumedien, the Deputy President of the Higher assembly for Youth, Abdel Halim Bin Badda, and the parliamentary deputy, Mr. Muhammad al-Hafid Tadjani, along with media representatives of the university, Dr. Abdallah Raguig and Dr. Khalifa Gaid, as well as several executives, professors, doctors, and students.
The conclusion program included various activities:
- Master of ceremony acted by Muhammad El Kabir Dahdah.
- Reading of recommendations by Professor Radwan Shafou.
- Distribution of Participation Certificates to professors participants.
- Honoring the organization committee of the conference by El Sheikh Professor Muhammad El-Eid Tajani, the Sheikh of the Zaouia Tedjania.
- A speech on behalf of the participants provided by Professor Ferih Khamesti.
- A speech of gratitude and appreciation provided by the University Rector, Professor Omar Ferhati.
- Concluding remarks with the recitation of the Opening Chapter of the Quran and supplication by El Sheikh Professor Muhammad El-Eid Tadjani, who expressed great gratitude to all the Algerian state’s top institutions participating in the conference and to the University Rector for his support of this conference. He stressed that the conference is a continuity towards future horizon.
Workshops for “Training of Trainers” (TOT) in Intellectual Property Policy(IP) for Academic Entrepreneurship as a source of innovation for sustainable development at El Oued University.
This morning, Sunday, March 5, 2023, the launching of “Training of Trainers” (TOT) workshops was inaugurated by attending 30 trainers at the Business Incubator Center at the University of El Oued. The event was attended by Professor Omar Farhati, the university’s rector, and the Minister’s advisor and chairman of the National Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Universities, Professor Ahmed Mir. Also Dr. Mohamed Fouad Ferhat, the director of the Business Incubator Center of El Oued, as well as El Habib Guedda the university’s vice-rector for external relations and for sustainable development and foresight, and the university’s secretary-general, Mr. Chouki Medellal, the director of the National School of Saharan Agriculture, and members of the National Committee, as well as administrative and scientific staff of the university.
This training workshop is aimed at university’s director of Business Incubator Centers and trainers from professors category, with a total of 30 participants from Higher Education and Research institutions in the eastern region, including the University of El Oued, the University of Kasdi Merbah-Ouargla, the University of El Arabi Ben Mhidi-Tebessa, the University of Mohammed Khider-Biskra, the Higher Teachers’ School-Ouargla, the National School of Saharan Agriculture-El Oued, and the Mechanical Research Center. The workshops aim to train the university’s participants and directors of Entrepreneurial Business Incubator Centers and all their academicians researchers.
In his speech, Professor Omar Farhati, the university’s Rector, expressed his gratitude to all the representatives of the National Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at all participants Universities, especially the chairman, Professor Ahmed Mir, and to Dr. Mohammed Fouad Farhat, for this academic event, which aligns with the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Professor Ahmed Mir, the chairman of the National Committee, stated that more than 500 trainers in the field of entrepreneurship and intellectual property polcies (IP) have been trained at the conclusion of this final workshops, and that these programs are part of the continuous support for innovative project holders and those involved in Ministerial Decision No. 1275 for Startup Certificate and Patent Certification.
On the sidelines of the opening of the training workshops, Dr. Fouad Farhat, the director of the university’s Business Incubator Center, and Professor Ahmed Mir, the chairman of the National Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Universities, were honored by the university’s rector.
