Through innovative programs, partnerships, and training opportunities, the university fosters knowledge sharing, capacity building, and community empowerment, aligning its efforts with the global agenda for sustainable development.

Launch of Training Courses for Student Project Holders at El Oued University

On March 13, 2023, El Oued University inaugurated specialized training courses in Business Model Canvas (BMC), Design Thinking (DT), and Intellectual Property (IP) at the university’s Business Incubator. These courses were designed for approximately 350 students holding project proposals under Ministerial Decree 1275, aimed at integrating entrepreneurial skills, innovation, and intellectual property awareness into higher education.

Supervised by University President Professor Omar Farhati, the initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to equipping students with practical tools and knowledge for sustainable development. The training was led by the Director of the Business Incubator, Dr. Mohamed Fouad Farhat, alongside faculty members trained through the National Coordination Committee for University Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Training Workshop Participants in the Local Qualifiers of the National University Cycling Competition

 

On January 31, 2023, a training workshop was organized at the small lecture hall of El Oued University for students preparing to participate in the local qualifiers of the National University Cycling Competition. This initiative aimed to enhance students’ skills in cycling and racing activities, fostering both physical fitness and organizational capabilities.

 

The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Bashir Zidan, Sub-Director of Activities, who emphasized the university’s commitment to equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills for successful participation in national events. The event also served as part of the university’s broader efforts to develop youth potential and promote extracurricular activities as an integral part of education.

 

A distinguished panel of judges, including Dr. Fatima Al-Zahra Qita (Department of Media and Communication), Professor and Journalist Al-Tahir Amara Al-Adgham, Poet and Doctor Saad Mirdif (Department of Arabic Literature), and Professor Madani Hammadi, provided expert guidance and advice during the workshop. The students received tailored training on activation skills and racing techniques, enhancing their readiness for the local qualifiers, which featured 37 participants and culminated in a lottery to determine the final sequence for the event.

National Training Forum on “The System of Public Transactions between Text and Application”

On March 13, 2023, the Faculty of Law and Political Science at El Oued University hosted a national training forum titled “The System of Public Transactions between Text and Application.” This initiative aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and skills related to public transactions, focusing on bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and real-world application.

The forum was inaugurated by the University President, Professor Omar Farhati, who highlighted the significance of the topic, especially in light of current economic and budgetary transformations. He emphasized the university’s role in organizing such events to contribute to the professional development of stakeholders and announced the official opening of the forum.

The event was attended by university officials, including vice presidents, the secretary-general, deans, financial officers, and evaluation committees from various faculties and the university’s services directorate. Esteemed financial experts and trainers, including Professor Hamana Abdel Aziz from Guelma (an expert in public transactions) and Professor Bejaoui Abdel Razzak from the General Finance Inspectorate, provided valuable insights during the sessions.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Dr. Maki Draj, welcomed the attendees and stressed the critical importance of the forum’s theme. The forum director, Dr. Elyas Jawadi, encouraged participants to actively engage in discussions and address their concerns to the expert speakers.

Key topics covered in the forum included drafting tender specifications, pre- and post-transaction audits, and oversight by internal and external auditing bodies such as the General Finance Inspectorate. The event also featured practical workshops and discussions, fostering collaboration between the university and the local economic environment to address complex issues related to public transactions.

Spanning two days, the forum concluded with actionable recommendations, reinforcing the university’s commitment to extending education and expertise to the wider community while aligning with sustainable development goals.
