اختبار تقييم كفاءة اللغة الإنجليزية لطلاب الدكتوراه بجامعة الوادي
On April 26, 2023, the Directorate of Training and Scientific Research at El Oued University organized an English proficiency assessment test for 78 first-year PhD students. The test was held under the supervision of the University’s Rector, Professor Omar Farhati, and was attended by Dr. Youssef Laib, representing the Vice Rector of the University for Scientific Research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, as well as Dr. Mohamed ChouchaniA., Dr. Amar Mustaphawi, Director of the Intensive Language Learning Center, Mr. Mustafa Mansour, member of the PhD Follow-up Unit in the Educational Dimension, Dr. Halima Abdelkader, member of the PhD Follow-up Unit in the Technology and Communication Dimension, and the trainer Ms. Chaima Menai.
The training took place in the Internet Room of the Central Library, and the assessment test was attended by a large number of trainees.
The purpose of the test was to assess the English proficiency of the PhD students and to identify their strengths and weaknesses in the language. The results of the test will be used to design a tailored English language training program for the students.
The test consisted of three parts:
- A reading comprehension section
- A writing section
- An oral interview
The reading comprehension section consisted of a number of passages that the students had to read and answer questions about.
The writing section consisted of a number of tasks that the students had to complete, such as writing an essay or a summary.
The oral interview consisted of a number of questions that the students had to answer in English.
The test was administered by a team of qualified English language instructors.
The results of the test will be released to the students in the near future.
