On Monday, February 20, 2023, the Health, Environment, and Sustainable Development in Algeria research team, part of the Social Development and Community Service Laboratory, organized a training workshop on “Managing Anxiety through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy” in coordination with the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences and the University’s Psychological Assistance Center.
Workshop Objectives and Target Audience
The workshop was specifically designed for third-year Clinical Psychology students, providing both theoretical insights and practical approaches to managing anxiety. It aimed to enhance students’ understanding of anxiety management techniques through interactive sessions and expert guidance.
Opening Ceremony
The event was inaugurated by:
- Professor Lazhar Dief, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences.
- Dr. Chawki Kadara, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Professor Belal Boutraa, Head of the Department of Sociology and Research Team Leader.
- Dr. Belkacem Aouine, a distinguished member of the faculty.
Workshop Structure
The workshop consisted of two parts:
- Theoretical Sessions
- Dr. Rahma Gourab, Director of the Psychological Assistance Center, delivered the opening lecture, providing foundational insights into anxiety management.
- Practical Workshops
Participants engaged in hands-on activities to apply the theoretical concepts.
