Support for Clean Energy Technology Policy Development
Purpose: To contribute to the development of clean energy and energy-efficient technology policies at local, regional, and national levels, in alignment with SDG 7.
Scope: This policy encompasses all research, advisory, and collaborative activities undertaken by the university’s faculties and research units.
Policy Statement: The University of El Oued shall:
- Research and Development:
Conduct research on clean energy technologies through the Renewable Energy Research Unit and the Faculty of Technology.
- Policy Advisory:
Provide expertise and recommendations to governmental bodies to inform policy development, supporting Algeria’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Development Plan 2015-2030
- Capacity Building:
- Organize workshops, seminars, and training programs for policymakers and industry stakeholders on clean energy technologies and best practices.
- Public Awareness:
- Engage in community outreach to raise awareness about the benefits of clean energy and energy efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- The Vice-Rector for Research shall coordinate the university’s efforts in supporting clean energy policy development.
Review: This policy shall be reviewed every three years to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with national priorities and international developments in clean energy.
