New academic season at the University of El Oued
Medical Annex, Translation and Veterinary Specialization, and Recruitment of 217 New Professors
On Thursday, September 21, 2023, the Rector of the University of El Oued, Professor Omar Ferahti, chaired a meeting to finalize the preparations for the reception of students and the start of classes for the 2023/2024 academic year in the meeting room of the central administration. The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rectors of the University for pedagogy, Professor Bachir Menaï, for scientific research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, for external relations, Professor guedda El Habib, for development and foresight, Professor Amar Zaabi, the Deans of the faculties, the Secretary General of the University, the Director of the Medical Annex, Professor Samir Darwish, the Head of the University Entrance Committee, Dr. Tariq Semmari, and the Vice-Deans in charge of studies.
The University Rector opened the meeting by presenting an agenda for the meeting on the progress of the pre-start of classes for the 2023/2024 academic year and the reception of students. He then gave the floor to the Vice-Rector of the University for pedagogy, who gave a comprehensive presentation on the student registration, which was completed 100%, the transfers carried out and the issuance of the technical card for the units and transactions for each specialization for all faculties. He pointed out that all student lists are registered in the Progress system and that all pedagogical operations have been completed, confirming the university’s readiness to receive its students and start their classes.
The Deans of the faculties gave detailed presentations on the readiness of each faculty and their full readiness for the 2023/2024 academic year, emphasizing the control of all technical and pedagogical operations from student registration and transfers, the professors’ timetable, the grouping lists, and the classrooms. The University Rector stressed the need to respect the timetable programmed for the professors and to provide excellent conditions for the reception of our students. He also stressed the need for direct follow-up and guidance for all the details mentioned that concern all first-year students in particular.
The Director of the Medical Annex presented a presentation of all the details related to the annex, including the teaching materials, the professors, their timetable, its equipment, all the available possibilities and the readiness of the annex for the start of the academic year. At the suggestion of the University Rector , a special opening ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in honor of the medical students.
The head of the University Entrance Committee also confirmed the smooth running of the operation and all the preparations in its various fields, indicating the readiness of all faculties to receive students and the start of classes on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The Vice-Rector of the University for Scientific Research then took the floor and gave a presentation on the PhD, the International PhD Meeting and the scientific and logistical preparation process.
After the discussions and various presentations that covered all the details, the University Rector stressed the importance of providing quality training and that all the conditions are available, and the readiness of the University of El Oued, as we are used to, to receive its students and start their classes with distinction and success.
