La Universidad El Oued lista para recibir estudiantes e iniciar clases
On Thursday, September 21, 2023, Mr. Omar Ferahti, Rector of El Oued University, chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for welcoming students and starting classes for the 2023/2024 academic year.
The meeting was held in the meeting room of the central administration and was attended by the Vice-Rectors of the University for Pedagogy, Professor Bachir Menaï, for Scientific Research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, for External Relations, Professor Gueddah Elhabib, and for Development and Foresight, Professor Amar Zaabi.
The deans of the faculties, the secretary general of the university, the director of the medical annex, Professor Samir Drissi, the head of the university entrance follow-up committee, Dr. Tarek Sammari, and the vice-deans in charge of studies were also present.
The University Rector opened the meeting by presenting an agenda on the progress of the pre-start of classes for the 2023/2024 academic year and the reception of students.
He then gave the floor to the Vice-Rector of the University for Pedagogy, who gave a comprehensive presentation on the student registrations, which were completed 100%, the transfers that were carried out, and the issuance of the technical card for the units and transactions for each specialization in all the faculties.
He pointed out that all the student lists are registered in the Prograss system and that all the pedagogical operations have been completed, confirming the university’s readiness to receive its students and start their classes.
The deans of the faculties gave detailed presentations on the readiness of each faculty and their full preparation for the 2023/2024 academic year, stressing the control of all technical and pedagogical operations from student registrations and transfers, the professors’ timetable, the grouping lists, and the classrooms.
The University Rector stressed the need to respect the timetable programmed for the professors and to provide special conditions for welcoming our students.
He also stressed the need for direct follow-up and instructions for all the details mentioned that concern all first-year students in particular.
The Director of the Medical Annex gave a presentation of all the details related to the annex, including the teaching materials, the professors, their timetable, the equipment, and all the available possibilities, and the readiness of the annex for the start of the academic year.
At the suggestion of the University Rector, a special opening ceremony will be held for medical students on Sunday, September 24, 2023.
The head of the university entrance follow-up committee also confirmed the smooth running of the operation and all the preparations in its various aspects, indicating the readiness of all the faculties to receive the students and start classes on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The Vice-Rector of the University for Scientific Research then took the floor and gave a presentation on the PhD program, the international PhD conference, and the scientific and logistical preparation process.
After the discussions and the various presentations that covered all the details, the University Rector stressed the importance of providing quality training and that all the conditions are available.
He also stressed the readiness of El Oued University, as we are used to, to welcome its students and start their classes with distinction and success.
