Primer Conversatorio de Máster para estudiantes de Biología en el marco de un proyecto de patente en la Universidad de El Oued

On the morning of June 8, the first three Master’s degree dissertations of biology students at the University of Martyr Hamou Lkhder-El Oued were discussed within the framework of a patent project at the level of the university business incubator. The dissertations were presented by the following students:

  • Zouari Ahmed Wafa, Chadou Meriem, and Ben Ghaliya Wassila Specialization: Applied Biochemistry

  • Soualah Madiha, Besaleh Khadidja, Lajimi Rabia, and Soualah Fatima Zahra Specialization: Applied Biochemistry

  • Hafri Asmaa, Seba Ichrak, and Ben Ali Ikram Specialization: Applied Biochemistry

All of the students were supervised by Professor Driss Samir.

The discussions were attended by committees composed of professors from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Life Sciences and a representative from the business incubator. The committees praised the students’ work, commending their achievements and expressing their admiration for all of the work presented.

It is worth noting that through each of the aforementioned dissertations, prototypes of pharmaceutical products were prepared and registered as patents by the incubator at the level of the National Institute of Industrial Property in Algiers. The products include:

  • An anti-pimple and skin inflammation cream
  • An herbal drink against gas and intestinal inflammation
  • Drops used for shortness of breath and some symptoms of asthma

All of the products are extracted from 100% natural local materials.

This achievement is credited to the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Life Sciences in general and to the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology in particular, to which all of the graduating students belong.
