Celebrando el Día Internacional de la Mujer en la Universidad de El Oued.

 

As part of the celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), in El Oued university. The university organized a ceremony today, March 8, 2023, honoring the female members of the university community including professors, students, staff, and workers. The event was attended by the university’s Rector, Professor Omar Ferhati, vice- rectors, the university’s secretary-general, deans of faculties, the social services committee, and guests from the Polish delegation.

The purpose is to raise awareness about discrimination and to drive gender parity. IWD belongs to everyone, everywhere. Inclusion means all IWD action is valid. At the University of El Oued, we celebrate IWD throughout March, marking it International Women’s Month.

The ceremony took place in the Grand Hall named Abu Al-Qasim Saadallah. The university rector opened the tribute ceremony with a congratulatory speech to the female members of the university community, recognizing their contributions as professors, students, staff, and workers. He praised the role of women and their growing presence in Algerian administration, welcoming all attendees and the Polish delegation. He also wished all our daughters and sisters in the university community good health, well-being, and continued success and prosperity.

There are numerous approaches at the organizational or group level to ensure that the needs, interests, and aspirations of women and girls (Feminine gender in general) are acknowledged and incorporated. These entities can promote #Inspire-Inclusion by taking action in various areas, such as:

 

  1. Empowering women economically.
  2. Developing, retaining, and engaging diverse talent.
  3. Facilitating women and girls’ involvement in leadership roles, decision-making processes, business, and STEM fields.
  4. Developing infrastructure that caters to the specific needs of women and girls in healthy manner.
  5. Providing resources to help women and girls make informed decisions about their health.
  6. Engaging women and girls in sustainable agriculture and ensuring food security.
  7. Offering access to quality education and training for women and female geneder.
  8. Encouraging participation and success for women and girls in sports.
  9. Promoting the creative and artistic talents of women and female geneder.
  10. Addressing additional areas that support the advancement of women and female geneder..

 

The ceremony included a video presentation titled “Algerian Women: History and Struggle.” Students from Ben Amara Ali School in El Megarene performed a welcoming anthem, followed by a speech by Dr. Atika Gargouat. Student Mohamed Rizk Labza performed a musical piece, and there was a puppet-show performance by student Ahmed Amin Ben Azzouz. This was followed by a poetic recitation by student Rahal Nargis and a monologue about women performed by the students of Ben Amara Ali School.

 

Some gifts and participation certificates of appreciation were distributed to the female staff and guests. The celebration concluded with a song performed by the students of Ben Amara Ali School. The celebration concluded with the voices of innocence and the melodies of the beauty of knowledge. Wishing you all well every year and all the best in all life’s domains.
