A training course on “Python Programming, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity” 

Today, December 10, 2023, the Artificial Intelligence House of the University of El Oued witnessed the launch of the training course on “Python Programming, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security.”

In the presence of the University President, Professor Omar Farhati, and the Director of University Services, Mr. Jamal Quraisha And the Vice-Rector of the University in charge of scientific research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, and the Dean of the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Professor Abdel-Wahab Mansour.

In his speech, the University President, Professor Abdelkader Laouid, thanked the Director of the House of Artificial Intelligence for his efforts and positive interaction with these distinguished trainings, indicating that the House of Artificial Intelligence is a real addition to the university and the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamal Baddari.

This training course is for the benefit of PhD students, Master of Computer Science students, and professors on how to exploit artificial intelligence in various fields. The course was opened on the first day with lectures from Saudi Aramco by lecturer Dr. Stephen Lynch, explaining programming in Python. The course will continue until tomorrow.

This course also aims to introduce Python programming, scientific computing, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. The bootstrap program also focuses on Python and TensorFlow programs, not on analytical theory.

Workshop on Braille Writing for Uzbek Students

Under the patronage of Professor Omar Farhati, Rector of the University of El Oued, the Imprint of Hope Club for People of High Determination organized a training workshop on November 29, 2023, in collaboration with the Faculty of Letters and Languages. This initiative aimed to teach Uzbek students how to write in Braille in Arabic. The workshop took place in the discussions hall of the Faculty of Letters and Languages and was attended by Professor Boubaker Mansour, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Professor Dalal Ouchen, Dean of the Faculty of Letters and Languages, and other faculty members.

The event commenced with the national anthems of both Algeria and Uzbekistan, followed by a welcoming speech from the Dean, who emphasized her unwavering support for individuals with high determination and praised their continuous contributions to the university. Professor Boubaker Mansour expressed his joy in attending the event, acknowledging the remarkable impact and contributions of the Imprint of Hope Club.

The club’s president, student Khemisti Achab, delivered a speech highlighting the university administration’s commitment to supporting students of high determination and thanked the university leadership for their ongoing efforts. The session provided a brief history and development of Braille, followed by practical applications where club members taught Uzbek students the basics of Braille, including the alphabet, reading techniques, and writing words in Braille.

Preparatory Meeting to Enhance Doctoral Student Training

On September 17, 2023, El Oued University held a preparatory meeting led by Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Professor Boubaker Mansour, to finalize plans for completing the training process for first-year doctoral students for the second semester. The meeting, which took place in the central hall’s conference room, was attended by vice-deans, department heads, doctoral training committee members, and the follow-up unit for doctoral training.

The meeting agenda included the following points:

  • Launching the second-semester training for first-year doctoral students.
  • Addressing student-related concerns.
  • Miscellaneous issues and logistical matters.

During the session, attendees discussed and evaluated the proposals related to the agenda, addressed challenges, and ensured that solutions were implemented to streamline the training process. The planned training is set to begin on September 30, 2023, and will extend over five weeks, focusing on equipping doctoral students with essential interdisciplinary skills and knowledge.
