On October 19, 2023, the Office of External Relations at the University of Shahid Hamou Lkhader, represented by Dr. Abdelkader Mahmoudi, Dr. Nacer Dahada, and Mr. Zakaria Kersho, held a remote meeting with the Slovak University of Technology in the capital Bratislava, represented by Ms. Lucia Miadoková, Head of the International Relations Office and Erasmus Office, Ms. Albita Lapšanská, representative of the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Sciences, and Professor Ivan Špánik from the same institute. PhD students Chimaa Salmi, Nour El Houda Bunjjar, and student Abeer Ben Aissa were selected for a full scholarship at the Slavic University, along with Dr. Farhat Mohamed Fouad, who was selected for a teaching scholarship at the same university. They attended the meeting via video conferencing along with Professor Attia Abdelmalek, Dr. Abdelkader Ghadir, and Mr. Amer Badir.
The two parties discussed the details of the movement between the two universities, where the University of El Oued obtained more than 16 scholarships offered by the Slovak University of Technology. The University of El Oued is the only university in Algeria, as the Slavic party expressed, with which a cooperation and student exchange agreement is being signed. The discussion was very fruitful, especially with Professor Ivan, Professor Mohamed Fouad Farhat, and also the three students who were selected for the scholarship. It is worth noting that the exchange process between the two universities will start from the beginning of 2024.
The University of El Oued will receive three PhD students from the Faculties of Chemistry and Civil Engineering and five professors to teach at the University of El Oued in the two aforementioned departments.
The Office of International Relations at the University of El Oued, the Vice-Rector for External Relations, Professor Habib Qaddah, and the recommendations of the Director of the University, Professor Omar Frahati, seek to create a qualitative leap by linking the university with the largest possible number of prestigious European universities. Students, professors, and staff will benefit from mobility grants to these universities and gain experience to improve our university in terms of knowledge and science.
