Following the directive from the Ministry to extend the operating hours of higher education institutions until 10:00 PM, the Faculty of Law and Political Science has begun scheduling events accordingly.
On October 25, 2023, the first public defence of a doctoral thesis commenced at 7:00 PM in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty. The opening was overseen by Dean Professor Mekki Derradji, Head of Department Professor Sadek Jaraia, and faculty staff. The examination committee included Rector Professor Omar Ferhati as Chairman, Supervisor Professor Mekki Derradji, along with Dr. Abdelhamid Faraj, Dr. Khaled Beggas, Dr Eid Dhuib from Laghouat University, and Professor Mebrouk Mahi from Ouargla University to examine on the thesis titled “Employment Policies and Their Impact on Political Stability in Algeria” within the specialization of public policy and public service”. The PhD candidate Douche Hamza’s relatives, the faculty professors, and colleagues were also present. Dr.Douche Hamza successfully obtained a doctorate with high honours, receiving congratulations from the board of examiners.
The decision to schedule doctoral theses in the evening until 10:00 PM is aimed at maintaining continuous activity within the higher education institution as specified by ministerial guidelines. This approach is aligned with the specific needs of university life, particularly in terms of pedagogy and research.
