Le responsable de l'Autorité supérieure pour la transparence et la prévention de la corruption, l'Université d'El Oued, organise un colloque national sur le rôle de l'Autorité supérieure dans la lutte contre la corruption.
Today, February 20, 2023, the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of El Oued organized a national symposium on the role of the Higher Authority for Transparency and Prevention of Corruption under the supervision of Professor Omar Ferhati, the Rector of the University. The symposium was attended by representatives from the Higher Authority for Transparency and Prevention of Corruption, including Ms. Salima Messrati, the Head of the Higher Authority.
The symposium was attended by local authorities, headed by the Governor of the Province, judges, deans of faculties, professors, and students. The Grand lecture hall, Abu El Kacem Saadallah, was packed with attendees.
In his welcoming speech, the Rector of the University expressed gratitude to the attendees, especially the Governor of the Province and Ms. Salima Messrati, for their participation. He emphasized the university’s role in scientific research and laboratory activities in the Faculty of Law and Political Science as a reinforcement of the Higher Authority’s role in combating corruption. He highlighted the importance of academic contributions in research and laboratory activities as part of the Higher Authority’s program, outlined in the agreement between both parties.
He also acknowledged that the University of El Oued was the first university to host the Head of the Higher Authority in such an event nationally, praising the Head of the Higher Authority for her academic achievements in university teaching and her previous role as the head of the Constitutional Court. He also praised the efforts of the President of the Republic in supporting transparency, prevention, and combating corruption. He commended the attendance of the Governor, local authorities, and symposium guests for contributing to the success of this distinguished scientific event.
In her speech, the Head of the Higher Authority addressed the university community, headed by the Rector of the University, praising the invitation and the quality of the event, noting that this activity is the first outcome of the Higher Authority’s program at an Algerian university. She extensively discussed the origins of the Higher Authority according to the recent constitutional amendment and its role in developing strategies for prevention and combating corruption, transitioning from an advisory body to a supervisory one. She called for updating educational curricula to integrate professional and ethical aspects and warned against the spread of corruption in its various forms, considering it a threat to national security and stability. She emphasized the university’s and its laboratories’ role in promoting scientific research in the field of combating corruption, stating that the university has a significant impact on social control.
